I chose this book as a beginning entrepreneur looking for actionable steps to advance and grow in the world of business. Three pages in, and I was hooked. This book made me feel like I was having a deep meaningful conversation with my elder sister (who is also my BFF that I haven’t ever met) and she was supporting, mentoring, and guiding me through all the processes and struggles that an entrepreneurfaces. I have read several self-help and motivational books but this one, quite literally, changed the meaning of motivation. Each chapter felt like a mini-workshop for all the different aspects of starting a professional entrepreneurial career, consisting of various mental exercises that helped me get immense clarity, confidence, vision, and a major perspective shift (destroying stereotypes). It also provided actionable steps towards starting a profitable creative business and scaling it into many businesses, as well as providing a roadmap full of insights and different business ideas, on which anyone can start working immediately after doing the exercises. It also dives into aspects of creative struggles, self-acceptance and reframing strengths, niching and focus, boundaries and balance, authenticity, challenges that come with building a business and so many more aspects that are extremely important to live life whether you’re an entrepreneur or not. This book is hands down one of the best guides and a map for transformation that every beginner looks for. It offers more value and insights than any of the self-claimed gurus could possibly offer, and, even better, it does not even feel like the traditional coaching that is offered. After you get this book, you’ll firstly connect with Sarah in such a way that would make you feel like she’s family and then the rest just feels easy. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is either looking for a straightforward, solid motivational guidance to jump start their journey or if you just want to train your mind and yourself to step into the outside world and take charge of your life. Thank you for this GEM of a book!

As a freelancer, Unscrambled by Sarah Edwards really described the feeling of not knowing what to do next and how to turn your passion into sustainable income. Sarah talks about her own struggles, even using her "egg-throwing" moment as a metaphor to explain how creatives like us can turn chaos/trials into something good and profitable. And what I really like about her approach is how she explains everything in an organize and meaningful way. She doesn't talk down to you or throw big business words around. It's more like having a heart-to-heart talk with a friend who's been through it all. Her tips on finding your niche don't feel limited, instead, she explains how getting focused actually opens up way more opportunities. For me, that was really huge. As someone who's been in the freelancing industry for a few years, doing little of everything makes work feel exhausting. Reading this has helped me get clearer about what projects/work make sense for me. The practical exercises in this book don't feel forced. They're about digging into what makes your work valuable and most importantly, how to feel okay asking for what you're worth. Sarah even talks about how to price yourself as a freelancer confidently - something I think a lot of people working on the same field as me struggle with but don't talk about enough. Reading this book has been fun and informative at the same time, This is a must-read for every freelancer/creative out there that are feeling a bit lost. Give Unscrambled a shot, this might be exactly what you need.
